Wednesday @ Thistledown

Ignoring Monday's issues until more details are released, there are some good looking races on the mid-week card. These are my early leanings.

Race 5
Adkins versus Rettele; Rettele's BUCK THE SYSTEM is my "first look" pick. Slightly more experienced, including a race at today's distance. My selection did nothing wrong except enter against Adkins' undefeated son of  More Than Ready, DOUBLE RING. Running erratically, he chased from gate to wire (2nd by 3). They are both horses to watch.

Race 7
CLEVER PERFORMANCE likes the tricky mile distance; might get the right trip sitting outside the three inside early runners. He ran second by one length in another merry-go-round race when no other speed fired.

Race 8
SEA PRANCER is a consistent runner; there should be enough pace to run into; the stretchout is not a concern, she's done it before. - ITALIAN RAPSODY is tough to pass, Rini can win off these "non-effort" previous races. Pressed for a half, then drew away under a hand ride ($5.20). Rini's runner showed nothing.
