It's time to be CREATIVE

I'll toss all the horses than banned in from anywhere but the Kentucky Derby for today's Preakness Stakes. From the Derby, only I'LL HAVE ANOTHER, BODEMIESTER, and CREATIVE CAUSE get a look. I don't think that handicapping this one is rocket science. We've seen the best of the Derby's top two, if they both fire, you've got your exacta again.

Many of the commentators that I've heard this week are conceding the race to BODEMIESTER. They say, "the pps don't show much early speed so he should be able to grab an easy lead, control the pace, wire the field." Now, if everyone knows this, isn't it possible that one or more set of connections is going to test his fitness coming out of twt tough races? I think so.

Another school of thought reasons that if BODE has to race for the lead we see Kentucky Derby 2012 repeated. Now regal, I'LL HAVE ANOTHER storms down the lane, on his way to a Triple crown try in New York. Didn't the Derby winner get a dream trip under the guidance of a perfect ride from an inexperienced jock? I'm not going to expect a Derby re-run today. That trip was just too sweet.

I went "all in" with UNION RAGS in the Run For The Roses. I keyed him on a bunch of exotic tickets and cashed none. This afternoon's play will much more straight forward. I'll have one win ticket on CREATIVE CAUSE. In my mind it is quite possible that he could quietly amble to the lead late from mid-pack just in time to nip BODEMIESTER and a half length before I'LL HAVE ANOTHER's late charge reaches the wire.
